Arcadia MRI & Imaging Center is pleased to announce that we now offer PACS (Picture Archival Communication System) to our referring physicians. Our Philips iSite program is user friendly and allows physicians to have immediate access to their patients' images, including the key images with annotations designated by our radiologist. The report will be attached to the images as it is finalized, and is available no later than the following day. This is a valuable time saver for offices.

Referrals to Arcadia MRI & Imaging Center

At Arcadia MRI & Imaging Center we strive to make each patient's visit as pleasant as possible while giving the highest professional care. We also want to make the process as simple as possible for our referring physicians, and want you to know about the following services we offer:

1	We will contact the patient to make the appointment. Please fax us a copy of both sides of the patient's insurance card and a copy of our referral slip and we will contact the patient for scheduling. If we do not reach the patient after three tries we will contact your office to let you know the patient has not been scheduled yet and work on follow-up with your office.
2	Whenever possible we will expedite the insurance approval process. Please fax us a copy of the patient's insurance card and a copy of our referral slip and we will call the insurance company for approvals and take it as far as we can go. Some insurance companies will require some information directly from the referring physician, and we will coordinate that with your office.
3	Uninsured patients welcome - we offer cash discounts.
4	We have both a 1.5T High Field MRI scanner and a .23T Open MRI for patients who are claustrophobic or very large
5	We deliver the films/CD and written report to offices in the San Gabriel Valley area the day following the exam, when requested.
6	If it is a STAT case, We will call with results right after the scan

Some Issues to Keep in Mind

	For MRI Scans, most cases would not need sedation and therefore there are no restrictions on food, drink or medications prior to the study
	If sedation is required please give the patient a prescription for an oral sedative such as valium or xanax and have them take it one half hour prior to their MRI scan
	If there is a prior MRI or CT, please send the films with the patient, if available
	A few MRI studies must generally be done on the high field scanner: Pituitary, Liver, Recent CVA's and Aortagram. Most exams can be done on either scanner. For CTs with contrast, there are special prep instructions that our office will give the patients
